HS-002 was a pioneering electrical engineer who played a vital role in developing rocket and space exploration technologies. A graduate of Höhere Technische Lehranstalt with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1939, HS-002 worked at Peenemünde from 1940 to 1945, contributing to early rocket development.
Brought to the U.S. under Project Paperclip in 1945, HS-002 became a key member of the Army Ballistic Missile Agency (ABMA) and later NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). At MSFC, he served as Chief of the Electrical Systems Integration Division in the Astrionics Laboratory, making significant contributions to the Apollo program. His dedication and expertise left an enduring impact on the field of aerospace engineering.
